Why can't I copy large files over 4GB to my USB flash drive?
"Have you ever failed to copy the file larger than 4GB to the external USB drive? Recently I encountered such a problem. I purchased a 32 GB USB flash drive, plugged it into my computer, and started copying some files which I wanted to transfer to another computer onto it. The little files (MP3s, documents, etc.) all transferred fine. But when I tried to copy some DVD ISO files, I got the error “The file ‘DVDBACKUP1’ is too large for the destination file system.” and then the transfer failed. I don’t know why it happened? Anyone knows how to copy large files to USB flash drive?"
Like the above case, if you experience the same can't copy large files to USB drive or memory card problem with "The file is too large for the destination file system" error message, it usually because that your files are larger than 4GB but your flash drive or memory card is formatted with the FAT32 file system which can only handle files up to 4GB in size. So, you can not copy files larger than 4GB files to the FAT32 USB drive, memory card or other external storage devices with this file system even there is enough free space. Then how can you solve the problem and successfully transfer large files to FAT32 USB? It’s easy! You just need to convert FAT32 to NTFS. The latter does not have the 4GB file size limitation, so you can successfully copy the file larger than 4GB to USB drive after the file system converting job.
How to convert FAT32 to NTFS without formatting
The most common way to convert the file system of a USB drive or SD card from FAT32 to NTFS is to format USB drive to NTFS with Windows Disk Management tool. But it requires you to delete all the data on the drive, so we don’t think it is the best way. Then how to convert FAT32 to NTFS without formatting? We recommend you to try EaseUS partition software. It allows you to do this job with simple steps. Here is the detailed guide.
Step 1.Connect your USB drive or SD card to PC, launch EaseUS partition software, select the disk or card you want to convert from FAT32 to NTFS, right click and select Convert to NTFS.

Step 2. The pop-up dialog box will show the source and destination file system, click OK to continue.
After finishing all the steps, you can convert your USB flash drive or SD memory card from FAT32 to NTFS and copy the file larger than 4GB to the USB drive successfully.
